Thanks to Chris Tock, Joseph Wee from ICON, the good people from SPE Networks Asia and Roots Asia Pacific, I managed to attend the media preview of the Amazing Race Asia season 4 at the Zeta Bar, Hilton KL Hotel on 15th September. The hotel is just a stone throw away from KL Sentral which makes it easier for me to avoid the notorious KL traffic jam and nope, I didn’t bump into Paris Hilton that day despite all the rumours…
Rabiatul Adawiyah was among the first to arrive and followed by yours truly who reached around 6pm.

Check out the cute flags!
The kind people at Zeta Bar served us with a variety of drinks and finger foods. Yum.. yum…. yum… Oh, and I did bring back a few of those cute flags!

Speech by the sponsors
The event was kicked of by the Chong sisters from Malaysia, Pamela and Vanessa, the 2nd place winners from season 2. As usual there are some speeches made by the sponsors and one of them even took off his jacket to reveal………… Jeng…..jeng….jeng….. *big grin*

Top: Khairie and Ethan Bottom: Ivan and Hilda
Then Pamela and Vanessa introduce us to the two team that represents Malaysia. They are Khairie and Ethan, the Friends team and Ivan and Hilda, the Husband and Wife team. Watching these two teams on the stage ensures one thing… This season of The Amazing Race Asia will be filled with laughter!

And the race in ON!
The moment we are all waiting for…… The first episode of The Amazing Race Asia season 4…. Sorry people no spoilers here but… When I said this season will be filled with laughter earlier, I was right on! One of the contestant from the Malaysia team might just steal the limelight in the opening episode. Watch how the ten teams struggle with their first roadblock and one of the team even managed to ‘kidnap’ a local just to show them the way.
This season features the first father and daughter team from Indonesia and another first mode of transportation is being used in The Amazing Race Asia. The winner of this first leg walks away with a Sony Bravia 46in TV and a Playstation 3 each. Dang, what a combo! I’m officially jealous right now… You guys need to watch it to find out who and what.
For the first time ever, The Amazing Race Asia will premiere online first, one whole week before its on-air broadcast. Unfortunate people who don’t have a good TV access like me, can log on to www.axn-asia.com/tara to catch the first episode online. The Amazing Race Asia will be on-air on AXN channel on 23rd September as they just finished their filming and now is in post-production of the series.

Interviewing the two teams from Malaysia
Not only that, we were given the opportunity to get to know the two Malaysian teams after the preview. Our group, consists of the local media and us bloggers were ushered to this lofty lounge at the 7th floor of the hotel.

Left to right: Hilda, Ivan, Ethan, Gayle from SPE Networks, Michelle from Singapore aka Rebel Pals team and Khairie
I’ve found out that both Hilda and Ivan were fellow INTIANS from Sarawak and the main reason they join this race is for their ten-years-old daughter. Beware, Ivan is not a typical ‘ang moh’ as he can speaks and understands Bahasa Melayu very well and Hilda is a real chatterbox that could speak non-stop.
Ethan and Khairie are both graduates from Monash University and these boys are really funny people. These two friends actually went to Genting outdoor park and tried out all their scary rides and roller coasters just to tame their phobia of heights.

Oh goodies!
Some goodies from the sponsors such as Axiata, Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Caltex. Thanks alot guys!

Oh yes, we (heart) the cute rubber ducky too..
I shall end this post with…. Let’s embark on the ride of a lifetime this season with The Amazing Race Asia and…
*quack* *quack* *quack*
We All Love The Yellow Rubber Duckies!
Do check out The Amazing Race Asia Facebook Page to find out more details and activities for this season…. Even some wacky pictures of the contestants!
P/S: Nope, didn’t see Allan Wu at the preview that night *heart breaks*
