Is it spring already?
Oh hi…. Guess I’m back from hibernation. I think this would be the longest barren-blog-post period I had so far. Two months plus… Geez…
Ok, this will be a quick wake-up post before I could start updating my blog again.
Thanks alot to Ellie and Advertlets, I got the chance to re-live my childhood nightmare last night. Apart from the scary Pennywise the clown in It, Freddy Krueger is the other character that actually scared me so much that I can’t sleep at night when I was a kid.

One... Two... Freddy's coming for you....
I reached Mid Valley Megamall around 6pm, grab my super-late-lunch aka very-early-dinner and my usual dose of King William Chocolate from Boost Juice Bars (Dang! I just found out that they have banana bread promo every Tuesday there.)
The ticket collection counter was open at 8pm and after lining up in the long queue for quite sometime, I got my ticket and it’s already admission time.
Ok, this is what I think about the movie. Personal opinion from someone who had watched all 6 films of A Nightmare on Elm Street (but I can’t remember everything I’ve watched okay)
This 2010 American slasher film is a so-so attempt to remake the original A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). Overall, I feel this version is predictable (except for a few scenes) as I think they ‘recycle’ most the element from the original version. So, if you had watched the earlier versions as much as I did, you might find this version… How should I say this…. Flat?!
The cast? Not bad. Both Rooney Mara (as Nancy Holbrook) and Kyle Gallner (as Quentin Smith) did a good job as lead characters. Call me bias but Jackie Earle Haley can’t live up to my expectation as the next Freddy Krueger despite his numerous credentials. To me Robert Englund is still the best person to potray that character.
Despite of the not-so-positive review from me, I love the ending scene! Truly unexpected and horrified.
Wanna know what I’m talking about? Catch it in your nearest cinema on 13th May 2010.

Come and share your nightmare...
Here is another treat for you. Check out their A Nightmare On Elm Street Malaysia Fan Page
and take part in their photography contest. Choose from any of the three themes (Welcome to your new nightmare, Never sleep again and He knows where you sleep) and who knows, you just might walk away with a DSLR camera.
