Blood Donation Campaign @ HELP University College
Aheeemmmmm….
Thanks to the still-dead-laptop-at-home, I’m forced to find other alternative to update my blog.
=_________________=
OK.. Back to the topic. I was honoured when
Dennis approached me to help him to promote this program. I told him that I’m not one of those bloggers that have high traffic that visits my humble blog but he gave me an ultimum, either I come to KL to join the campaign or promote about it. Hehehehheee… I guess you know my answer.. XD
Anyway, some of you may realise that I have quite a passion in blood donations. I’ve wrote about my experiences donating blood at Queensbay Mall and Self Awareness Society Malaysia. Those are not the only times I managed to donate blood. In total so far, I’ve been donating blood for 9 times for the past 8 years. And you should see BaYnN’s blood donation book, his records are waaaaaayyyyy more than mine. =________=
Believe me, the needle pain is nothing compared to the pain of those patients that in dire need of blood. I am grateful that I am blessed with O+ blood type (universal donor) which mean other blood type patients can make use of my blood. Besides, donating blood is the cheapest and easiest form of charity.
Blood banks in Malaysia have always been in need of blood donors for it has insufficient blood in the bank. According to Deputy Director of the National Blood Centre Dr Faraizah Abdul Karim, during festive season in 2002, there were only around 450 units of blood available in the centre which has the capacity to hold up to 5,000 units. The minimum requirement for Klang Valley alone is between 1,200 to 1,500 units of blood. To cater for this demand, the National Blood Centre actually requires about 300 blood donors daily. Statistics shown a very low percentage of donors donating blood every year.
Your blood may not only save the lives of your loved ones but other people who are loved. Drop by the college and donate your blood now. The community needs your aid.
