SHOCKING! Birthday Wish From Police

OMG! I can’t believe it!
I got my first birthday wish for this year from a local police officer, beating my loved ones and my friends! How many of us can get a birthday wish from a policeman? Cool eh? Here’s the long story….
Last nite I saw a group of men, wielding parangs (long machetes) surrounded this one particular man, from my apartment balcony, Quickly, I rushed inside, get my mobile phone and dialed 999 (Malaysia’s emergency response number).
With shaky voice (I was that nervous kay..) I told them what I saw and by the time I went out to the balcony again, the guy have been bundled into a Proton car by the parang wielding guys and left the scene. With the police on the line, I told him what I saw and gave him the car registration number. He asked me a few more questions and we hang up.
Within 10mins later, I can hear a police siren blaring from afar and arrived at my apartment area. By this time, there are lots of people gathering there, all looking busy. So, when the police came, they were greeted by the group.
I was watching all this from my balcony and waited for the police to call me back (since I’m the one that called 999) but I found out that I can’t be contacted through my mobile phone (stupid Nokia/Maxis-full bar but still ‘out of coverage area’ message). So I went down and introduced myself to the police officers..

Me: Encik ni respon panggilan 999 tadi ke? (Are you responding to the 999 call ?)
Police: Ya (Yes)
Me: Saya yang buat panggilan tadi. (I’m the one that called earlier)
Police: OK, Cik boleh bagitau saya apa yang Cik nampak? (OK, could you tell me what did you see?)

There was a quite a long conversation here…

Police: OK, Cik ada IC tak? (OK, do you have your IC?)
Me: Saya tak bawa IC, ada kat rumah. Nak saya ambilkan ke? (I didn’t bring my IC, left it at home. Do you want me to go back and bring it to you?)
Police: Tak apa, bagi maklumat Cik kepada saya (It’s OK, tell me your details)

So, I tell him my full name, my contact numbers and my IC number.

Police: *after repeating my IC number for confirmation* Ni besday esok laa ni – yes, that exactly how he pronounced ‘birthday’-(So, your birthday is tomorrow?)
Me: Err… ya. (Err… yes)
Police: Happy besday ya.. – again, that’s how he pronounced it- (Happy birthday ya)
Me: Terima kasih (Thank you)

He told me that he had contacted the other police stations in the area to help out and setup roadblocks etc. etc.. I told him that if there is nothing else, I want to go off. He said OK and thanks for the information. ‘Happy besday!’, he said again while we shaked hands.

I wonder whether getting your 1st birthday wish of the year from a policeman is a good sign or other wise… ;p

P/S: Oh ya, and my birthday is on 14th May 19XX (crap, a year older…. again..) ;p
